Privacy policy

Abound Parenting, PBC (“Abound”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to the Abound Website and Abound Mobile Applications (the “Service”), and Abound content, such as text, graphics, videos, images, information, and other material (“Content”).   1. The Information we Collect. We only collect information you provide. When you create an account with Abound, we may ask for information to process your registration, including an email address and password. To help personalize your experience, we may also ask for information including your name, gender, children’s names, their gender, and their age. We may also allow you to upload a photo of yourself and your children and select your preferences for various activities and receiving email communications. If you connect or sign in to our Service or Content using a third-party service, we will use that third-party service to authenticate you. We may also use, collect or access other information that you have agreed may be provided by that third party, such as your username, name, e-mail address, date of birth and gender. We collect this information so that it can be used for the purposes explained in this Privacy Policy. When you use the Service, we may also collect and store information about the mobile, computer or other devices you use to access our Service and about how you use them. We may also collect and store information such as your browser type, IP address, language, operating system, unique device identifier, mobile network information including phone number, the date and time of your usage, the content and pages you view and the websites you visited immediately before and after visiting our Service. We may associate your device identifiers or phone number with your Abound account.  We may also collect and store certain information in server logs, including in third-party logs. This may include: (i) details of how you used our Service or Content, (ii) IP address, (iii) device event information such as crashes, system activity, hardware settings, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and referral URL and (iv) cookies that may uniquely identify your browser or Abound account.

 

  1. Intended use of Information. We use the information we collect to operate and provide you with the Abound Service and Content. This includes, but is not limited to: Personalizing your Abound experience and customizing your child’s activities; Monitoring the effectiveness of our Service and Content; Understanding usage trends and preferences; Improving our marketing and promotional efforts; Allowing you to monitor your child’s progress in Abound; Customizing and delivering information about products and services that may be of interest to you; Providing customer service and sending confirmations about your account; Protecting our intellectual property or other rights; and Managing and improving our business, Service and Content. You can opt out of receiving most emails by selecting the “unsubscribe” link on our emails, but we reserve the right to email you (i) to confirm transactions, (ii) to address account issues, such as when you make a purchase, or you request a reset password or (iii) as required by law.  We also reserve the right to use or share non-personal information (e.g., de-identified or aggregate data) for any purpose.

 

  1. Other Third Party Tools. We may integrate other third party applications and tools into the Service to provide users with a better experience, and continually improve the quality of the Services. These third party providers may perform functions that help us operate the Service and that require the collection or processing of user data on our behalf and subject to our instructions.  Examples of such providers include, but are not necessarily limited to, payment processing services, email deliverability providers, and (as noted above) analytics and performance data solutions (e.g., Google Analytics, Amplitude).   1. Sharing your Information with Third Parties. WE WILL NOT SELL, SHARE OR TRADE THE PII YOU SUBMIT TO ANY UNRELATED THIRD PARTIES, MASS MARKETERS, OR TO OTHER NON-AFFILIATED ENTITIES FOR THEIR MARKETING PURPOSES WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT. Your PII will not be visible to other users of the Service unless you provide them with access to it.  We may share your personal information in various ways, including, without limitation:  Service providers and agents. We may share your information with certain third parties selected by us to help support our operations. These include, for example, services that help us process payments, analyze web traffic, send emails, and track customer service requests. In addition, we may share limited personal information to third parties that help us market or advertise Abound. Corporate affiliates. We may share your information with our corporate affiliates, such as entities under common ownership or control. Compliance with law and law enforcement requests, and protection of our rights. We may disclose your information when we have a good faith belief it is reasonably necessary to (i) meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process, court order, governmental request or other legal mechanism, (ii) enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations, (iii) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, (iv) protect against harm to the rights, property, safety of Abound, our users, or the public.  Consent. We may disclose your information when we believe we have your consent to do so, such as when you contact customer service and ask us about your account, or when we have the consent of someone we believe is authorized to consent on behalf of you, such as the individual associated with the payment method for your account.

 

  1. Use of Cookies. We and our partners use various technologies to collect and store information when you use our Service or Content, and this may include sending one or more cookies or anonymous identifiers to your device. Cookies are small text files placed on the browser of your computer or mobile device when you visit a website or use an application. We, our business partners and advertisers may use cookies (or clear gifs, web beacons or similar devices, including devices that function in the mobile environment) to collect information from users for purposes such as tracking Service visits and to measure visitor patterns.  This information is not personally identifiable and is used only to improve the Service or Content and enhance your experience. Cookies are not used to retrieve PII from your computer or device, or to retrieve other information from your computer or device for purposes that are unrelated to the Service or your interaction with the Service. We reserve the right to disclose or utilize any of this information in aggregate form, for any purpose, in our sole judgment. Third party advertisers that serve ads on the Service may also use their own cookies.  You may stop or restrict the placement of cookies on your computer or remove them from your browser by adjusting your web browser preferences. Note that this may cause some features of the Service to work incorrectly. Please note that cookie-based opt-outs are not effective on mobile applications. However, on many mobile devices, applications users may opt out of certain mobile tracking activities via their device settings.

 

  1. Accessing, Reviewing, and Deleting your Information. You may access or delete information we have collected about you by contacting us at the contact information listed at the bottom of this Privacy Policy. While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your requests, if allowed by applicable laws, we reserve the right to impose certain requirements and restrictions on such requests, such as limiting our production of information to certain formats.

 

  1. Security and Confidentiality. To ensure the security and confidentiality of Information that we collect online, we use data networks protected, inter alia, by industry standard firewall and password protection. We take measures reasonably designed to protect your Personal Data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. However, information transmitted on the Internet and/or stored on systems attached to the Internet is not 100% secure. As a result, we do not ensure, warrant or guarantee the security or integrity of such information. We will not be responsible for disclosure of any Information due to errors in transmission or the unauthorized acts of third parties. You help to maintain the security of your Personal Data stored in our systems by keeping your username and password confidential and protecting against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.

 

  1. Consent to Processing and Transfer of Information to the United States. If you access the Abound Service or Content outside of the United States, you fully understand and unambiguously consent to the transfer of your personal information to, and the collection and processing of such personal information in the United States.

 

  1. Parental Permission. Our Service is intended solely for persons 18 years of age and older, or for persons under 18 years of age with parental permission and supervision. If you are under the age of 18 you may not access or use our Service except with the permission and supervision of your parents. By using our service you represent and warrant to us that you are 18 years of age or older, or have the permission and supervision of your parents.

 

  1. Links to Other Sites. While you are using this Service, you may be linked or directed to other third party sites outside of the Service that are beyond our control. Each of these third party sites may have a privacy policy different from ours. For example, you might click on a link or banner ad that will take you off the Service. These links and banners may take you to sites of advertisers, sponsors and co-branding partners. Please review the privacy policies of these sites. We are not responsible for any actions or policies of such third parties.

 

  1. Changes to Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy may be updated by Abound from time to time. If Abound makes material changes, we will provide notice to you either by email or (i) by posting the updated Privacy Policy on our Website at least 15 days in advance of the effective date and (ii) posting a notification on our Applications that the Privacy Policy have been updated. Please note that unless otherwise provided by applicable law, your continued use of our Service or Content means that you agree with, and consent to be bound by, the updated Privacy Policy.
